Hi I am King

Have you ever seen those people who drive around town with their best friends (their dog) riding right next to them, head held high, and snout out the window taking in all the smells? Well I have, and that is the life I am desperately looking for!!

I am a beautiful Sheppard/husky mix; my coat is so lush and soft. My foster parents say that I listen to all commands perfectly. When I take a treat I am so gentle you can not even feel my mouth. I sit, lie down, heal, stay, I even cuddle on command. I am a very calm doggie when I have people around me to look at and to touch me.

Guess what….. I am not perfect though, really is any person or dog perfect? I have a very hard time being left alone. When my foster families crate me for long period of times I have a panic attack and I will break out of my crate if I can. I don’t do this because I am aggressive or defiant, I do it because I am so very frightened that no one will ever come back for me. When I do get out of the crate I do not maliciously try and ruin anything I simply try and find places I can get out and scratch and scratch and scratch. This is why I need to find a loving person to adopt me that will be home with me most of the day, and would be willing to let me ride along with them on errands or wherever. As long as I can see people I am the most well behaved doggie ever (that is what my foster mom has told me so many times)!!

I believe that I am a lap dog, my foster brother is a six year old boy and he makes for a great bed when he lays down I will sprawl across him and cuddle, cuddle, cuddle. I am so not interested in the foster family dog, he is small and I sniff him once in a while but he is just not my type J When my foster parents go to bed, they call me up and I leap gracefully on the bed and let them love and pet me. Then I get hot and I hop down and sleep on a blanket at the foot of their bed. I do not move all night!!

This is what my foster mommy says, I am the perfect, loving, most beautiful, sweetest dog she has ever met, If there is a person out there who does not work all day, that loves to have mans best friend at their side, and is willing to accept me with my fault, I will make them the happiest dog owner in the world!! So if this sounds like you please click that adopt button below and let’s get together!!

Love,

King (my foster mom calls me “Kinger-dinger-man…I kinda like it” )

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
