Meet Nala!

Nala has had a really tough life. At only one year old, abuse and starvation were all she knew.

You see, Nala had all but given up until one day she found an angel that swooped her under her wing and brought her home. The angel asked us if we could find her a new and loving home. She also didn't have much time because bringing Nala home, put her over their dog limit and risked their lease. Of course we couldn't say no, so now Nala is in a loving foster home while we work to find her the perfect forever home.

UPDATE FROM NALA'S ADOPTIVE HOME, AUGUST 31ST, 2011:

We are very happy with Nala, and she absolutely loves us and her
"sister" and living on our acreage.  Last year when we got Nala our
lab/collie mix Tasha (now 14 1/2 years old) was not doing very well, but
having Nala has really helped her.  But I know that one day Nala is
going to be heartbroken with the rest of us when Tasha is gone.

Nala took quite a while to trust us, and she is still leary of
strangers, but she has only met a few people and other dogs that she
hasn't warmed up to after 15 minutes.  Katie deserves a lot of credit
for her care and training of Nala during her foster care.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
