Description:
This little sweetheart is very fond of pouncing on balls or anything flung, and loves his chews. His foster reports that housetraining and crate training are going swimmingly. Keep in mind that he's still very young and will need to be outside at least every 4 hours for a little bit yet. This includes overnight, though he's sleeping well in his crate near people - especially if a dialogue-heavy show is playing quietly for a few minutes nearby to help him settle (his favorite show is Scrubs!)
For such a young little furball, his foster reports that he's surprisingly mellow, friendly, and curious. He's already learned to sit for things he really wants, like dinner! Like all puppies, he needs redirection when he gets the nibbles, but is very happy to try a chew or stick instead of a finger, and leaves his towels, blankets, and bed alone.
He's shown polite interest in the family cat and neighborhood dogs but doesn't lunge or bark at either, so he would probably get along just fine with another nice dog or cat, particularly a well behaved older dog to show him the ropes. He's still pretty gangly and clumsy and would probably be safest in a home with adults or gentle teens.
It would be awesome if he could be somewhere with a bit of fenced yard, so he can run his zoomies out, but he's been more than happy to walk his foster's yard on leash, too.
The most fun thing about him is what a little snugglebug he is. He's happy to be held, happy to chill out next to you, and when he's sleepy, he likes to nap in laps. And it's the sweetest thing ever when he looks up at you with those amazing two-color eyes.
* Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
