Meet Caprica!

Caprica is a happy, spritely puppers! Boredom isn't a thing, she can always find something to do! Gardening? Caprica will help dig your holes! Doing home improvement? Caprica will carry (off) your screwdriver! Cleaning the house? Caprica will help sweep or carry your dust rag! Got a munchkin who likes to carry snacks? No problem! Caprica can help get that snack eaten up!

She's doing excellent at housebreaking and has no problem letting you know what she's thinking (shared walls are not a good idea). She is still a puppy and thinks she's invinsible so she needs to be watched closely as she learns.

Because of her long Doxie body and her short little legs, Doxies have special lifestyle needs to help prevent medical issues and accidents. Doxies can be stubborn and strong willed. They can be pretty opinionated and happy to share all of their thoughts and opinions with you (and anyone else who might be within earshot). For these reasons, we are seeking a Doxie experienced home who can help lead and guide her to grow up to be the healthiest and best she can be! No shared walls or free roaming pocket pets. And while we LOVE our longer distance adopters, she still needs vet care making long distance adoptions pretty hard because it means multiple trips back in to our veterinary clinic. As much as we'd love to, since we have our own veterinary clinic, we cannot reimburse vet care or provide a deal.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
