Description:

Hi, I am Sahrina and I am raring to go to my forever home.  My foster family is madly in love with me, so I bet you will love me, too!  I am so soft and pretty with a beautiful plume of a tail that is usually wagging, because I am a happy and cheerful girl.

I might be a little scared at first when I meet people.  I am a good watchdog, because I bark when someone is at the door or comes in our yard, but just for a bit.  Within a couple minutes and gentle talk, we will start our friendship. I love going to the dog park and outside to chase balls or play.  I am super good about coming when I am called.  I can sit, shake (usually) and I am adorable when I sit up.  Being a long lady, it is super cute.  I am smart and learn commands, hand signals and I watch my pack members.

If you want someone to snuggle, I am your girl.  But let’s play first!!  I will return a ball or toy right away and over and over.  I LOVE to run around chasing with other dogs, so having a fur brother or sister would be great.  I like kids, too.  My alpha female and I disagreed once and got into a fight, but now I know she is in charge of us fur people.

I am let out pretty often as one of the humans is retired.  But, I have stayed home for a long time and no accidents.  I love to be right by my favorite human.  I will curl up on the floor, on a chair or in one of the cushy dog beds.  At night, I sleep in a bed in their bedroom or sneak in and sleep by their feet. When they wake, I am ready for cuddling.  I really never needed a cage or kennel.  I am still a puppy, so if they drop a napkin or a pen, I will protect my humans from it and rip it into oblivion so it can never bother them.  Not to eat, just to kill.  We have lots of toys and antlers and chew things to keep us occupied when things get boring.  Tug of war?  Sure thing!!  If I had to just sit around with no friends or toys or anything, I would probably get antsy or sad or maybe take a nap.  Busy is fun!

Oh, by the way, I love our pond!  I might just jump right in now and then. I am not afraid to chase ducks, squirrels and giant geese out of our yard! I have little speckles, so maybe a little Spaniel in me?  Let’s have some adventures, because I am game!

Thank You!

  or

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
