Description:

Violetta is a beautiful diluted tortie. She enjoys being a mama, but is looking forward to having a home where she gets as much love as she gives. She currently lives with her kittens, a resident dog, cat, 2 human children and a foster mom. Since she is a nursing mother, she is understandably territorial and protective of her babies. She is fine with resident pets that keep their distance, and I think that without her babies she could integrate into any household. That said, she doesn’t LOVE dogs; she merely tolerates them.

She does, however, LOVE people. She likes to be held and carried around, she purrs, and melts in your arms, she has been tolerant and friendly with little kids and happily sleeps with the resident children

Violetta is also very food oriented, she has clearly been hungry in her life and she inhales her food. While she is nursing, I am feeding her separate from the other pets, she is thin and needs some extra calories anyway, once she weans we will work on letting her eat with the other pets (she would gobble up her food and then, one by one, shove the other pets off their dish to eat their food, too!). She is free fed Wellness CORE Kitten food and served several portions of wet food each day.

My adoption fee covers my boosters, rabies, FIV/ Feluek test, microchip and spay.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
